WE have an ancient culture in American Samoa, and our heritage is very important to us here and for our people living throughout the United States.

We respect our fa’a Samoa, and continue to support the ongoing efforts to ensure the preservation of the Samoan language to keep it in use for generations to follow.

We honor the historic strength and bravery of those ancient islanders who traveled our vast ocean, and built strong families on countless islands.

We know that Pacific Islanders bring the best of their lasting values to the United States.

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month honors the cultures of countless U.S. communities originating in the continent of Asia and the vast Pacific region, and what they have meant to the nation.

Generations of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans have helped elevate this great country, and the cause of freedom.

While we’re greatly diverse, even among our own communities, we often share essential values that resonate in the U.S., where the ideals of freedom and opportunity are cherished.

May God bless American Samoa, the United States, and all our Asian American and Pacific American communities.
