Armando Camposano continues to upgrade his skills as a photographer and videographer.

AFTER 29 years of living on Saipan, Armando Camposano has turned his passion into business.
“I have loved photography since I was 15,” he told Variety. Back then, he used a point-and-shoot film camera.
“The first professional photography and videography job I had was in 1999 when I worked for Saipan TV Productions. It was an underwater photo and video shoot with a Japanese tourist,” he recalled.
“The underwater current was too strong. It was very hard to maintain distance from the subject as a cameraman. I had to learn all the skills and techniques by myself,” he said.
But due to his hard work and dedication, he was soon involved in around-the-island scenery productions, wedding videography and other special event projects.
“I love what I do,” Camposano said. “It is something I look forward to doing every day. I don’t find it difficult because I enjoy every moment of my work.”
When he first arrived on Saipan, he was employed as a service staff member. He later became a boat crew member and a scuba diver assistant instructor.
A self-taught photographer, he said he learned video editing and Photoshop by taking online courses. He used to go to Joeten-Kiyu Public Library to use its computer.
“I also borrowed books and checked the magazines to see how photos were taken. I also tried to learn everything I could from other photographers,” Camposano said.
He said all the challenges he faced helped sharpen his skills.
“It was as if God was preparing me for something bigger,” he added.
In March 2022, Camposano decided it was time to start his own photography/videography company. He founded Digital Image Productions whose office is located in San Jose on Beach Road.
He said he is thankful to his former workmates and mentors because they contributed to the development of his skills.
“I learned a lot from them,” he added. “My friends at Saipan TV Productions taught me a lot about editing videos and using Photoshop.”
