THE Saipan Humane Society, a non-profit organization with a big heart for animals, is thrilled to share its plans for August. After the unexpected closure of Saipan Cares for Animals in May, the society has been working hard to fill the gap in services. Here's what's in store for the community's furry friends:
Wellness and sick visits
From Aug. 7 to 10, and Aug. 14 to 16, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Saipan Humane Society team will be available for wellness check-ups and helping sick pets get better. Whether it's flea and tick prevention or vaccinations, they've got it covered. Even virtual vet consultations will be available if needed. Prices are set with the community in mind, making sure everyone can afford quality pet care.
Spay/neuter clinic
Prepare for a particular clinic from Aug. 21 to 25 and Aug. 28 to 31. A skilled vet from Animal Balance will be on hand to perform spay and neuter surgeries. Dogs will be the focus, and there's room for 20-25 surgeries each day. If you want your pet to participate, check the Saipan Humane Society website this Wednesday for the sign-up link.
Adoption event
August is National Clear The Shelter Month, and on Aug. 12, an adoption event is happening at the Saturday Farmers Market. If you're thinking of a new furry family member, this could be your chance. Alongside your new pet, you'll get a pet supplies basket, your first vaccine, deworming, and flea/tick medication — all for free, but a $30 fee will be paid to the dog control shelter. There will also be a pet food giveaway and a chance to win a pet supply package.
Saipan Humane Society is thankful for the community's support and wants everyone to know they're here for the long run. Their goal is simple: to ensure every pet gets the care and love they deserve.
